    Probably have to call Apple, give them the serial# on the back.

    hmmm... i thought you can punch in some numbers code on the key pad to get this type of info...hmmm....i might be wrong....or maybe it wont work for unactivated phone....Google for it buddy. Or try a search on here for those codes. Good Luck.

    ^^I almost forgot about that. Your right. But not sure if its good for an "unactivated" phone. Here it is though:

    Power up your iPhone.
    Enter *3001#12345#* then pressing “Call”.
    This will start the hidden Field Test application.
    Under Versions you will find the version of your firmware.

    Why not just pwn and update to 2.1? Or is this a legit ATT activation issue you are having?
