Where is 2.1 firmware stored?

When iTunes downloads the 2.1 firmware, where is it store? I am running one Windows but I am sure there are Mac users that want to know too, so you can answer that as well

Well, it's different for each system. For Mac it's stored in ~/Library/iTunes/Iphone Software Updates. For PC, I would assume (since I don't use PeeCee) it would be in CProgram Files\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates.

No such folder exists for me. I think it used to but with 8.0 it is no more...

Theres another way on xp. You have to have hide hidden files and folders unchecked. then navigate to
C://Documents and Settings/<YOUR USERNAME HERE>/Application Data/Apple Computer/iTunes/iPhone software updates
