Modify Old iPhone dock to fit the 3g with cozip case
This took me about.....20 minutes. I took a steak knife, and heated the tip up with a burner. Then used the hot knife to reform the old iPhone dock to fit my new 3g iPhone with the cozip case on. Back part is easy, the sides of the dock had to pretty much come off. Here are the pictures.

I did the same, but it doesn't look that bad! At least it gets the job done thats the main thing.

What in the worllllllllld..? Let me be the first one in this thread to take up a collection to help alnk1015 get a real iPhone 3G dock. I don't want anybody to see that thing including yourself...
J/K... Like the other posters have already said: "As long as it gets the job done.."

1. Buy iPhone 3G dock from Best Buy
2. Carefully open 3G dock
3. Remove 3G dock from packaging and replace with 2G iPhone dock
4. Re-super glue bottom of package
5. Return to Best Buy for refund
F 'em! If you don't screw them (Best Buy) first, believe you/me, they'll take their chance when they can.

you've insulted Apple and us, you just wasted your money..why would you do that? you could have just take your casing off and just place your iphone in the dock instead of wasting electricity melting the plastic dock, you've wasted a perfectly built dock and a good one too....what a shame! shame on you...

I use a Griffin Simplifi Charging Dock that allows me to keep my case on, Just love it.
Won it on eBay for under $20.00 ($4.99 shipping) brand new.

I made my own too
I made my own docking station too. I think it turned out pretty darn good. It was received well by my friends, so I started selling them.
