Pics of a water damaged iphone

Look closely and you'll see the burn marks on the plugs and the flex cable.
The Motherboard tracers are burnt all the way back through the board. This phone would actually turn on and go into recovery mode, but would shut off or throw errors (20, 1604) when trying to restore. These two errors were stating that the main ECU of the iphone could not be contact. It was booting straight from the baseband (like a bios), but the flash chip could not be accessed because it is nuked.
Oh and PS, there are a couple more spots inside the phone where there are water tags so you might get away with painting your headphone jack, but if they take it to the back and pop the back on it, you're screwed.

i um dropped mine in the toilet last week. never EVER thought it'd EVER happen to me but it did. not the whole thing went under water ("clean" water). i turned it off. dried it, tapped the bottom of the phone on a towel for awhile, in case there was water in the usb port/speaker/microphone. so far it's working just fine...fingers crossed

If you look inside the headphone port of iPhone 3G and 2G and you see white there is no water damage. If you see red there is water damage and apple will not repair your phone.
