My GOLD iPhone
Yes, yes, Thats right. But not 24kt gold. just plain gold iphone housingwith a gols bezel. With a 24 kt gold metal sticker on front and backBut there is alot more to it than that.

Here is the "iPhone Air" (read on the know what I did)

Here is the end work.

Steps that were ignoring to me.
1. Opening the iPhone with a "opener tool" was just useless. The tool was plastic and did not help anything. I had to use a knife to open the iPhone between the plastic antenna cover and the plate. And left dents in it.
2. The screws to undo. Fortunatly some screws were a piece of cake. But unfortunately some screws weren't. Go I had to force them out
3. The BIG problem.
OK when you think of buying a housing for your iphone, You might think it is easy and there is everything that is supposed to be. WRONG. I found out when opening the plate. I notice bits inside the real plate that help the buttons and exterior switches the screw in. NOT the gold plate. It was holo. And I thought maybe I just have to pry them off. Prying them off was hard! and screwed up my real plate!
4. The Bezel
Putting the bezel in was not that hard, but the quality of the bezel was plastic. And I know it will not be gold soon!
5. 4 hours of figuring out how to put back the exterior buttons of the iPhone did not help and ended up with braking the hold button.
6. Anther price to pay
So I have to buy more buttons. With frustration and could not wait much longer. So buttons from hong kong by fed ex was $50
7. For 5 days my iPhone was called the "iPhone Air' because it was slimmer with not many buttons lol. And buttons came in the mail. Buttons came and after 5 hours of fixing, cutting, frustrating. I finally put my iPhone into whole 1 piece.
THE BAD NEWS
HOLD BUTTON
It works..... but the hole is bigger making it look crap.
SIM CARD TRAY
It works. In a different way........ You use a paper clip and press it in right?...... I put a paper clip in and pull it out and force. And my sim will fly off.
HEADPHONE JACK
It works. But have the force it in. Think of it as a "anti flush" headphone jack.
SILENT/RINGER
Is no more. Could not figure it out and silence has to be done my assigning a silent ringtone i made.
VOLUME BUTTONS
Works! But have to use nails.
Also vibrator is no more. My stupid mind made it cut off my accident.
SO my point is
If you like a new colour housing...... DO NOT DO IT!!!
The After Math. Well with a bit of fixing. I managed to have it in a way that I wont kill myself.
But, the housing has a gap between the bezel which REALLY sucks.
So, I would like positive feedback please. I know I am an idiot... no need the mention it... lol

Bling Bling, every time I come around your city, bling bling.......
We've known since the release day of the iPhone that replacement housings just don't work. You have to be incredibly crafty to pull it off. I can't help but think a little searching would have helped
.
Regardless, moving on to a few curiosities..... Did the new backing have a mounting system for all the switches like the old backing or did you have to creatively adhere them to the new case?Screw #Winning, I'm #Juanning

I'd have spent that $50 bones on a new stock case and it would likely work properly.
Wrap it in gold vinyl.

It looks good. Saw one before on eBay selling skins for iPhone that looks similar to your housing. The skin is like a sticker that is removable. I'd rather buy the skin than disassembling my iPhone.

My god! I'd say after your frustrations and customizations(your properly functioning buttons) that your simply lucky to have a functioning device! Good job, it looks flashy, and it still works!

looks good! I ordered my housing a couple of weeks ago and still waiting for it to come in. I am debating if I want to do the logo mod too. I bought another iPhone to use so I can take my time on it(and steal parts from if anything breaks)
