Itunes Not Recognizing My Phone

hi im using itunes 8 and a 2g iphone, and no itunes doesnt recognize my phone it says the software needed is not installed, i uninstall and reinstall an nothing, please help, Im On version 2.0.2

You most likely don't have the most up-to-date on the Apple Mobile Device Support. What I would do its do a full uninstall and reinstall of iTunes.

If your on Windows you'll go to the control panel and get rid of iTunes,QuickTime,Apple Mobile Device Support,and Apple Software Update. Once you get rid of that then do a restart of your computer.

apple.com/itunes/downloads to get iTunes v8 and it will install all of those back onto the computer. If that dosen't work let me know.
