Works..confirmed here....iPhone 3G 2.1, 3rd party apps working. BigBoss has an app on Cydia called CacheDel that will handle that step automatically for you. Just tap it after you install anything in Cydia and it will handle refreshing the Springboard properly.

Hi! I have 1st gen iphone on 1.1.4 jailbroken thru ziphone to use with tmobile. Id liek to pwned this to 2.1 but I am really nervous to do so. I have a mac and I am still on 7.6 itunes bc I had heard that the new vers 8 itunes will mess up a jailbroken iphone. Is this true? I am going to go thru this tutorial on this link you set up but I cant tell on some of the files you have linked is they are for mac or pc?
