I'm planning on buying a 3g but i got questions

1.) If I walk in the stores just to upgrade phone(pay someone with a at&t account)will I still have to activate it?
2.) I heard something about downgrading the iPhone 3G to 1.1.4 and unlocking it is that true?
3.) Will T-zones hack work on it?
4.) Do they upgrade phone at bestbuy or could I just walk in ask for the phone and pay as a gift ?
5.) Is there anyway possible to get 1 without becoming or using a at&t user?

Yes, there are many possibilities. Try in other countries - on the net. Ebay, or other simillar - just open your mind to the possibilities thru the www.

1: you still have to activate...the activate instrore
2: i havnt heard about this but unlocking it , hmmmm maybe if you downgrade the baseband but then again, idk...dont think its worth it and even if u downgraded the baseband, i think the 3G wouldnt work as its added in the new baseband althoug again i might be wrong, but the 3G like everyone states doesnt work on tmobiles 3G
3: tzones hack was just updated and i believe it works on 3G but for edge only
4:upgrades only, i just went there
5: ebay/craigslist

in my personal opinion , you can just get a 3G with a prepaid gophone chip, and enjoy all the features of the iphone , just be easy on the calling...
i currently have free nights and weekends and the media max unlimited package and i tether my 3G , online everywhere at 3G speeds and only pay $20 dollars for a month
