Hey all...

I have a 1st gen iphone and long story short, the bottom half of the screen wont respond to any touch. I tried restarting and restoring it. Its definitely hardware. I restored it with itunes, the normal way and went to the apple store.

I found out that i need the fone to activated with At&t and i have t-mobile. Does anyone know if theres a way i can fake it, maybe by using a friends At&t sim card, or maybe getting a prepaid plan.

Im mainly curious if i do anything like this, will something they look up tell them im not really an At&t customer.

I don't what they look at when they look up the information at the genious bar, I think they just look up warranty information. If your phone is under warranty and they give you a new one then I think you will want to have an Att sim in there just in case.

My main concern is if they look up let's say, the phone number, then if they see the plan isnt an iphone plan will they just tell me they cant do anything??
