As i stated above, i am having trouble using the mail function on my phone. i had an 8gb 2g unlocked/jailbroken i phone everything works flawlessly except the mail. if i open up the mail app on the phone it shows a blank list of mail accounts and quits after about 5 seconds and returns to the home screen. also when i try to re-sync and replace mail accounts on the phone, while it states syncing mail accounts, the iphone jumps to the home screen from the lock screen and on itunes(on comp) it says could not sync mail accounts because iPhone quit unexpectedly. i tried deleting the plist and nothing. please help.

Install BossPrefs, go to more, and select fix user directory permissions. But from now on try searching first as this problem has been encountered many times before.
