Reading contacts 7-digit number

Is there a fix for AppSupport, so that my phone reads the last 7 digits of a number dialed so that the contact name shows up when I call?

Right now, if I have a contact in my address book and I locally dial their number (###-####), iPhone does NOT read this info from my address book or displays the name.

If I dial the same number, but the full number (1-###-###-####), the contact's name WILL show up when I dial.

There was a fix for this, but the AppSupport Wiki has since disappeared.

Would love to have this back where it only reads the last 7 digits.
