Is it pointless to get a Ipod Touch if your going to get an IPHONE?

I was thinking to just use one for the phone and have some apps maybe but the other one I can have all the goodies, such as movies etc...

Is that pointless....will the reality be that I only need 1 16gb iphone which will be more than enough?

It all really depends on your needs - just how much music and how many movies do you prefer to carry around? Is it a bad idea to have NSFW music or movies on your phone if you work in a formal enironment?

If you need a phone and an iPod, then the iPhone is for you. If you don't need a phone, the iPod touch is for you.

I do need a phone, I just dont know if 16 GB will be enough for all the apps, movies, and music.

So theres your Yes and No lol I personally wouldnt push the issue so I dont use it.

Well, I have a 3G 16GB Iphone and a 2G 8GB Iphone.

I also have a 32GB iTouch and a 160GB Classic.

I dont feel pointless.......just dumb for spending that much

I find i just need the iPhone. My music library isn't very large and I mostly use it for videos. A simple aux cable works for when I want to listen to music or audio language lessons in the car.
My 18 year old college student son has an iPhone and an 80 gb iPod classic. He hAs a large itunes library first off. He also has an ipod adapter for his Alpine HU in his car that made the iPhone get hot. When his old iPod mini died he bought the classic. I first thought he was a bit nuts but he got a great deal on an open box on his employee discount. He has the added benefit of leaving the iPod plugged into the adapter closed in the glovebox and maintaining access to his phone.

That being said, you can go ahead and do it anyways if you're more of the fearless type.
