Hi. I have just installed Cydia and I have a few questions:
1. Are all the preinstalled packages necessary? I don't even know what they're for.
2. Should I uninstall Installer?
3. Some apps that I installed via Installer is not listed in Cydia. What should I do?
4. Is there a way to get more sources on Cydia? So packages that others have are not in my Cydia. Thx

I would not touch the preinstalled packages. Some of these are improtant for system operation.

You can run both Installer and Cydia.

Are you on 2.0.x firmware or a 1.1.x ?

You can add sources on Cydia, but only the Cydia sources. They are listed under More Package Sources on the Cydia home page. For Cydia running on 2.0 or higher that is. I don't believe you can add sources for the Cydia running on previous firmwares.

Cydia and Installer sources are not always the same, especially for older firmware.
