New User. Plz advise!

I just got a new iphone 3g w/2.0 firmware. It is activated on att&t. I want to be able to download 3rd party apps. to my new phone. What do I need to do to prepare my phone for these apps? Thanks for your expertise.

do a search for winpwn (2.0.1) or quickpwn (2.0.2) for instructions on how to jailbreak your phone, which will then enable you to download 3rd party applications through either cydia and/or installer

Thanks for the reply. While I was waiting I done some research and am currently downloading winpwn 2.0.0.4 and the updated 2.0.1 firmware link. There is a good guide for dummies on the winpwn website to help me through. Any advice on how to back up my existing iphone settings?

you should back up your phone with itunes prior to jailbreaking

Hey you seem pretty experienced with this stuff. I have downloaded some of the downloads from the link at the top of the page. They are .rar files. Will I be able to install them after the jailbreak? With ease?
