No AUDIO????? No SOUND?
Last night, I tried a few times to call a buddy on his iPhone (1.1.2). A few hours later he called me to say, he couldnt HEAR anything on his iPhone... no keyboard clicks, nothing when incoming msgs arrived, or even when he answered a call. He was only able to answer calls when using the earpiece. After a few hours he called back to say it was working.
NOW, oddly enough, MY iPhone (1.1.3) started to do the same thing, but I am unable to get it working again. Any suggestions?
NO AUDIO when I answer a call. No system sounds. Nothing seems to work. I cant even get sound through my headset!!!
I tried the mute (silent/vibrate) switch on the side of the iPhone. I tried adjusting volume. I tried the options under Settings>Sounds.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Last edited by Jaeden Scott; 02-10-2008 at 01:00 PM.

try turning on your iPod and listening to some music and pluging and unpluging your headphones in and out a few times.
I found its always better to press pause before unpluging your headphones.. software glitch I think... the iPhone thinks the headphones are still in so doesn't sen the sound to the speakers.
Hope it works... it did for me

but I have NEVER ever used my headset (headphones) with my iPod, so I am not sure how or why this happened. Still not working tho.

Try the "headphones in and out rapidly" a few times....I first heard of this happening to a co-worker who payed $70.00 to have a Genius Bar employee tell do this for him. It seems as if the jack gets lint trapped inside and triggers the phone into thinking that the headphones are in (whether they are in or have ever even been in doesn't matter). "Jacking in and out" several times loosens the offending lint...
Happened to me several weeks ago and worked perfectly...

I've had the same problem for 2 weeks and I still can't hear the other person on a call unless I put it on speaker or plug in the headphones. My receiver is totally dead. I've done everything from resetting the settings, plugging and unplugging trick, etc. When is the 3G iphone coming out? I'm ready to buy it and dump the brick I have now.
