ssh connection problem

im trying to establish a ssh connection with my phone using fugu, but when i try turning on ssh through boss prefs, its only on while im still at that screen. when i hit the home button and go back to the main page, it seems to be off because when i go back to boss prefs, the ssh connection is switched to off. any ideas on what i could do?
