Default Got iPhone 3G, MIGHT be selling it, so should I activate the phone?

I got an iPhone 3G with contract, in the same time, I am using iPhone 2G and I am enjoying it, I am still thinking if i should switch to use the 3G one or not. The thing i dislike about it is it feels cheap compare to the 2G version, and lots of problems arising too. That's why I am still debating to sell the 3G.

Now the main question is, should i activate the phone first, no matter if I am selling it or not. Because after activation, I should have 1 year warranty.

I'm disappointed in getting the 3G iPhone. My 2G one is better except for slow data network. I even downgraded to 1.1.4 because it's much better than any 2.0.X at this time.
