Can't install iTunes!

hey guys, i need help. i am running Vista 64bit. i've had itunes and it worked fine, but yesterday i was trying to use winpwn to jailbreak and got error 6 on itunes, i saw a suggestion to reinstall itunes, so i uninstalled all apple software i could find, and when i tried to reinstall it from apple.com itunes+quicktime for 64bit.. i kept getting an error message "windows installer could not be accessed. this may occur if youre running in safe mode or your windows installer is not properly installed" so at first i tried to reregister/reinstall windows installer and clean it up, but the funny thing is ALL other programs, quicktime included install just fine.. only itunes give that message! i tried older versions of itunes, also didnt work
help please..
