My local AT&T store now requires a credit check in the store before allowing a purchase. According to clerk, this is a new policy. They weren't going to require an activation in the store, only a credit check. I was leary but said ok and handed over my driver's license. She noticed my zip code was from a town not served by AT&T and she refused to sell the phones to me.
Just wondering if this is a general policy that I will find at all AT&T stores?
That shouldn't be allowed.
Then again they also wouldn't let me in the store to look at cases because i wasn't 18.
I'd call in the manager, you have money, and you intend to activate on AT&T (At least thats what you say) And if they don't want your money then say "Fine, since AT&T doesn't want my money ill just buy one at the Apple Store and maybe T-Mobile will be more interested".
Im still meaning to raise hell over there for not letting me look at cases because i wasn't 18.

My point was that two months ago when I bought phones they also wanted to do a credit check but when I declined, they said ok...and sold the phones anyway. Now there is no option, sounds like.
