does having your email auto check on run your battery life down just the same as using the Internet I noticed when I didn't have edge on period I sustained life but now that I have it I still rarely use the Internet my batt life seems to disappear even when I don't use anything just bein in standby any ideas?

If you get a lot of email, change it to check every hour. That will use the least battery life. Also, if you still get a lot of email turn it on to MANUAL and just check it. Either way is ok, manual will use less to no battery.
