I think it has something to do with winterboard or the themes I had on. I was using the abstract(for icons), illuminate(for cycling backgrounds), rainbow battery, MacBook air keyboard and voice reminders themes. I disabled these themes and phone runs a WHOLE LOT smoother. Not sure if it's the app itself, one particular theme or a combination of themes but they did intact slow down my phone. I'll start testing each theme later to find which one was the culprit, but fir now I'll just leave em off and see if it solves my safari and SMS crashing.

One indication was that my apps weren't closing smoothly. The icons didn't flood fluidly back onto the springboard like they should when you hit the home button. They just appeared there like when you crash out of an app. After disabling the themes that fixed that.

Formatted the phone with a new 2.0.2 install

The problems persist

For me, 2.0.2 got rid of the contact lagging, SMS keyboard lag. 3G seems to be the same but I'm not certain if there is any change...

its def the winterboard themes that slow down the phone. I deleted everything i didnt need (especially the keyboard hacks). All I have is the monochrome theme, digi signal bars, and the user wallpaper. now my phone is running great on 2.0.1. dont see the need to go to 2.0.2 yet.

My issues include...the spacebar on the keyboard seems to be "higher" I would normally hit the bottom of it to push it but I have to hit the top now. My phone doesn't show my texts when I get them. I have to unlock my phone to check now. My reception has not improved...it's exactly the same. The screen that pops up when I get a text message stays on the spring board until I tap the text message then it finally goes away. When i add a mail account the damn "exchange" server settings keeps popping up and I have to hit cancel like 15 times in order to back out. I can not add another email account. THE ONLY BENEFIT THAT CAME WITH THE UPGRADE IS IT KEPT ALL APPLICATIONS AND PHONE BOOK ENTRIES AND EVERYTHING A NORMAL IPHONE HAS AND OF COURSE....THE DOWNFALL....I LOST ALL CYDIA AND INSATLLER APPLICATIONS I HAD INSTALLED. 2.0.2 is a joke. I would stay at 2.0.1 till they eventually release 2.0.3 to fix all of 2.0.2 issues that exist.

...Too late, lol. Well I restored to 2.0.2 ran quickpwn, changed my boot logo and was driving around New Jersey yesterday with full bars for 3G, they barely went under 4 bars either. i was in Princeton, Trenton, Robbinsville, and a couple others with really great service...no crashes, nothing, apps working fine as well, and my keyboard lag is barely even there.

Also, is updating going to be a one-way street soon?
