question re: Restoring contacts onto iphone

hi,

managed to lose my 1.1.1 phone after 6 weeks which i unlocked/jailbreaked myself, and just purchased a replacement one with 1.1.1 firmware.

can anyone tell me the steps to restore my old iphones contacts, pictures, music, videos etc from my computer onto my new one? (if its possible). does it back up sms's too?

at the very least just need all my contacts back on? worried about accidentally deleting any information that has been stored on the computer so havent hooked it up yet!

i think itunes is 7.4 or 7.5 running on winxp if thats relevant, not in the same country as my home computer right now

any help would be appreciated!

hi when you plug in your phone for the first time you will get 2 option
1: start up as new phone
2: restore as .....iphone ....... being your old phones name
so if you want all the stuff back like your old one eg. weather clocks contacts all settings sms call records
select 2
if you want to start as new select 1
