Default New to iPhone and have some ?'s

I have a unlocked and jailbroken 1st gen iPhone. It is awesome. After you uninstall apps do all traces get uninstalled?

Reason I ask is I installed an app to check email at given intervals. It asked me to install Erica's Utilities. The thing didn't work so uninstalled, but now it seems my battery is not as good.

Is it possile it is still running background tasks draning my battery? What type of standby time is normal?

I could restore but would this brick my phone? Any help is appreciated

its ok to restore and all you have to do is re-unlock. try pwnage or just use bootneuter to unlock.
if you want to kill all running apps then just hold home until it crashes all apps

Ok, I am kind of new at this. 2 more questions

    1. What is "open ssh" can this be uninstalled and will it matter if I do

    2. I am running XP and my phone was purchased by me after it was unlocked using Ziphone. I have downloaded the Ziphone software and I think I know what to do.

Can I just use Ziphone to unlock it after a restore? Is there a guide somewhere?

    Thanks for the help
