Iphone Screen Not Working-DAMN!!HELP

Hey , i have a week 38 iphone, i have had it since mid december 2007, it had fw 1.1.1 and all was fine!!i could do anything, then all of a sudden one day my screen stopped responding!!i tried to run the battery dead and try again but could not unlock or switch off iphone with the slider!!

Now i have restored my iphone to 1.0.2, but i cannot slide for emergency so i cannot jailbreak it, nothin is working!!

anyone else had this problem?wat can i do?
any help would be appreciated!!

That'd be a hardware issue - warranty repair is your only option.

OK warranty repair...

Am I still capable of getting a warranty repair, even though i have jailbroken and unlocked the iphone?at the moment, it is sitting in its original state asking me to activate the iphone.
will i still be under the warranty?

I have the same problem with the exception of having dropped mine :-(

I've phoned local repair stores and nothing! so my only option is to send it off to apple. I'm slightly worried I won't get it back as it was imported from the USA to UK and having jailbroken it.

failing that is there any reputable online sites that will repair broken/non responsive screens?
