iradio & speaker distortion - volume problem

A few days ago, I was using iRadio because the car I was driving had no working radio... I noticed that the volume was just about able to overcome the engine and road noise of a running car, which was great to take the edge off. Since I wasn't hearing any crackling or straining from the speaker, I figured it was okay.

However, after a few minutes the sound got really scratchy, distorted and generally lost volume. I stopped using iRadio and now ALL sounds are terrible... Tons of distortion/noise and very low volume, like I've blown out the speaker. Is it possible to do that with iRadio?

I've done everything short of a full restore. I've used the various plists according to a couple of different threads here and nothing has helped!

Do I need a new phone?

I just suddenly started having the same problem. I was playing a game (FastLane) and the speaker suddenly start sounding really distorted, especially with low bass sounds. Did you ever get this figured out or fixed? If so, can you post how?
