1.1.4 Moving to 2.0??? Good Idea?
I have another Noob question, (sorry in advance to the more graduated users) I have an unlocked Iphone, and it has 1.1.4, does it behoove me to upgrade to the 2.0? I believe that there will be a resounding YES from many, but curious to see the ideas in writing. Also, I'd love to hear the potential fallbacks to this move if there are any. Thanks for taking the time, Miguel

I had 2.0 for a few days and didn't like it much. It seemed to respond to everything slower than in 1.1.4. Plus, not all the apps that worked in 1.1.4 don't yet work with 2.0. I'm back at 1.1.4Don't forget the Thanks if I helped

In my opinion I think you should upgrade.
- Way better games (even though some may cost you $1-$10)
- More polished apps like Installer 4 (coming soon), VNC, NES , MXTube (for viewing and downloading youtube videos)
- Google app is good for many things like searching quickly, email, etc..
- eBay is pretty good too (if you use it)
- More 'scientific' calculator
- Delete and move email easier than before
- Movie app is very nice
- INTELLISCREEN =]
- A free app called 'Where' that has a lot of useful features
- No video recording app YET
- No categories (coming soon??? Idk..)
- No snapture or 1shoot yet (better photo-taking apps than the original camera on the iPhone which REALLY sucks
- EDIT: pncntigger does have a point though because settings and some apps SOMETIMES take a while longer than 1.1.4 to load (but what's an extra second of waiting?)
If there's anything else, then it's because I probably don't use it (like MobileMe and other things I just thought about or I'm just too sleepy too think about it.
But that's what I could think of so far, hope it helped a little.

Apple's Remote app alone is worth the price of admission for me. (I have an Apple TV)

I finally took the plunge and upgraded my 114 jailbreak to the 2.0.1 in hopes that the 2.0 bugs were fixed. I put a bunch of free apps on my phone, sync'ed my music, went to bed. Woke up and none of my apps are working, this is ridiculous.
So I manually deleted them all. Then restarted the phone. To my surprise 1/2 the apps were still there. Huh? Ok lets delete them again. Restart - about 1/2 of those were there.
I'm very displeased so far.

The Locate features alone also did it for me. No more going into Safari to a movies site and trying to find a theater by city or zip code, just run the program and it finds all theaters closest to you. And restaurants, and stores, etc etc.
It's all a matter of personal opinion. Depends on what you're willing to give up. And there's nothing I really miss from the 1.1.4 Apps, and the new Apps are far better.Get "iPod & iTunes for Dummies", it'll change your life.
