i just tried it.....it starts up and says ( insufficient permissions.....installer was not installed correctly. it should run as root:wheel. we will continue but please remember that it may not function correctly. )

i changed to root:wheel but same message.....dont know whats up

i installed and set permissions to 777

this should NOT be posted here because soo many people are going to get their hands on this that shouldn't.

its beta release 1 and the mass public isn't ready for this yet.

(I haven't figured it out yet)

I know Cydia does a trick to run as root!

update:

that trick worked... but it's quite boring as there is nothing in the repo!

I think we should just wait!

Yeah, until installer 4 is OFFICIALLY ported to the 2.0 firmware, you shouldnt be messing around with any unofficial downloads you may find.
I mean i want installer 4 as much as the next guy, but you really just have to wait this one out.

Yeah i found the download link on DIgg so the link is out there people are gonna get to it fast, but unless you know what your doing it isnt gonna work

Try entering these commands:

chown -R root:wheel /Applications/Installer.app/

chmod 4755 /Applications/Installer.app/Installer

i didnt work this out massive big up to HELLRIDER!!!!! he is the one who fixed this

how can i undo the last two commands?
after typing in these i now seem to have a problem: apps from the app store won't start anymore

any ideas anyone?
help appreciated!

That shouldnt have anything to do with Appstore apps unless you typed somthing wrong in Terminal, Do you remember exactly what you typed in?
