Ghost or complete back up V1.1.4

I have tried iphone Pc Suite and the software crashers ( latest version )can anyone put me on the right track for ghosting the complete phone so i can upgrade or downgrade then dump everything back on the way it was before.

depending on the firmware you are going to some apps may not work since they are only written for 1.1.3 and 1.1.4. itll be easier to just wipe the phone and then start over so you can get a fresh plate to work with. the pc suite i think can ghost the whole phone for you
