I'm a proud ipod touch owner, but I've noticed that carrying around touch and a mobile phone is ****! So I've decided to grab iphone...
I live in Europe, Italy... here they don't sell it in the shops, only option is ebay or ask someone to bring it from u.s.

now ebay, I've noticed that even older iphones cost 500$ + why is that I don't understand, anyone mind clarifying it for me?

what is my best option right now? I don't really care about 3G, so where can I get old model iphone for cheap?

are newer 3g iphone models hacked? so if I get it, can I use it for European gsm operators?

the 1st iphone to be released from what i understand are the only ones that can be unlocked for another cell phone provider ( t-mobile ) Thats da reason why da price is expensive.

im not exactly sure about the 3G cause im fairly new to the whole Iphone...

3g iPhones are currently not unlock-able, so if you want the phone unlocked, your best bet is to get the first generation, especially if you don't care for 3G
