Upgrade Itunes

I am wondering if I can upgrade to itunes 7.6 without upgrading firmware to 1.1.3? I know all about not being able to do anything if I upgrade firmware. I am simply asking if itunes can be upgraded and me still use it with my Iphone not being upgraded.

yes you can, just make sure that you uncheck the box next to the 1.1.3 update when it ask. I am running 1.1.1 and just updated to the new itunes. I really like the manual option.
