Need help fixing email on iPhone

I've had my iphone for a few months now on T-Mobile. A few weeks ago, email stopped working. I had gmail properly set up before, but now I get the following error:

No password provided for user "email addy here" on server "imap.gmail.com".
Please go to Mail Account Settings and enter a password.

I tried chmod of all the mail directories I could find to 777. I tried deleting all of the account plists for mail I could find. Ive deleted the account and tried readding it. No luck. It keeps forgetting the password.

Any idea what to do?

Is there any way to reinstall the email app to the iphone?

only if someone on here can upload the Stock Files of the Mail App for you. If not, i think you would need to restore..and jailbreak all over again.

i thought the permissinos were 775 and did you try to reset your password, if you did did you try one of the many mail.app patches from installer to fix that error

i am having the same problem i chmoded i delted the acounts.plist an also the keychains.
But the problem remains.
any suggestions?
I did not find any patches...
