how to remove/add sim card without paperclip

Actually, I was in a similar bind to you and I was able to pop it out using a mechanical pencil and having enough lead out to push into the hole. You have to be careful and press straight down otherwise the lead will break, but it is doable. Thank goodness for the new SIM removing tool Steve included in the iPhone 3g... Glorified paperclip haha
