Turn 4gb into 8gb?

Hey guys, So here's the deal. My little brother has a gen 1 8gb iphone that he dropped and shattered the glass, the phone is still in working condition just with a busted face. I have a "rare" haha 4gb iphone and hate the storage. I went to iFixit.com and saw you can order bigger logic boards and it has instructions on how to change them out. My question is, if I get the tools needed for this to be done, can I take his logic board out and put it in mine?

Why not just take your screen and put it in his? That way the capacity on the back matches the true capacity of the phone + it's easier....

yeah that would be the logic thing to do Thats just like taking the whole motor out of one car and put it in another just because the starter is bad on the other motor. Why not just change out starters? just a thought
