Return receipt?

if someone requests a return receipt from say ms outlook and I grab it with my iphone does it trigger the receipt to be sent?

It never asks

I know this is old, but yes it does!

I am pissed that Apple decided that it should send out read receipts by default and with no way to turn them off!!! I've had my phone for several months and I had no idea it was sending them out. I don't need customers knowing when I read their email!
