Since upgrading to 2.0 i've noticed a different data symbol at the top... is this just the replacement for the solid square?

I'm on Orange in the UK, and never get the E symbol, only the solid square so it's strange to see this...

Gen 1 iPhone by the way

I get it sometimes too.

I have a first gen iPhone in the US.

Its the GPRS symbol. It means EDGE isnt available so its switch to the even slower GPRS

So then it means the EDGE icon still looks the same, since that one is GPRS....
