Default 3g battery drains faster than it can be charged

so on a trip to another town I used gps for about an hour while on a car charger. When I arrived and unhooked my battery was completly dead. And I started with a full battery. Bad apple

Are you sure you were using a compatible car charger? The only ones that work on the 3G phone are the USB type.

And that's one of the main reasons I'm sticking with my first gen iPhone...what's the point of having a mobile device when it needs to be plugged in 3 or 4 x's a day?! 3g and a blue icon that moves on a map is a step down for me! Don't beleive the hype people! Cheers

My battery has been fine, in fact, it has gotten better with each charge so far, as these batteries do sometimes.

I would recommend turning off PUSH and your 3G, and possibly your WIFI. That will help with the draining of the battery.

Definitely sounds like your charger is having a problem, unless you were riding around in one of these:
