unlocked iphone with a regular cingular plan

i was wondering if i could use an unlocked iphone with a regular cingular plan. i know without the iphone plan i wont be able to use the internet without signing into a wifi spot. all i want is the actual phone and the wifi capabilities. i was wondering if it would work?

Yes it works, and it doesn't need to be unlocked... just activated.

Download iliberty+, then jailbreak and activate using the program. It is super simple once you have the app up and running.
