This accessory is not made for the Iphone...

Hello guys, I want to share a problem I'm having with my Iphone and is driving me crazy, for the past 5 weeks my phone displays at random the message "this accessory is not made for the iphone; without anything connected to it, also says the same when the cable for charging is connected the first time, some times right after unlocking the screen and some others times the phone just comes out of sleep to show the message and after a few seconds the message is gone and the phone goes to sleep again.

So I restored and activated/jail/unlocked using Ziphone 3.X and all went well, but after a few minutes I got the same problem again. So I did the restore and jail/activated/unlocked again, but once again the same all over.

Does anybody else having a similar problem or my Iphone as gone bad?

Moderator: can you please move this to the right place, I was reading and accidentally posted on the wrong section, sorry!

Thread moved. Unfortunately this sounds like a hardware issue to me, but just to be sure DFU restore to 1.1.4 and use iLiberty to unlock/jailbreak. When you plug back into iTunes be sure and set the phone up as NEW, and not from back-up. Good luck.

Did that...

Poseidon79:

I actually did that before, the only diference was that I used Ziphone and not Iliberty, do you think Iliberty will do the trick?
I set the phone to new in a different PC since I get the infamous error 6 on my PC

And thanks for moving this to the right place!

This is bad...

Kaloyan:

My Iphone only displays the message for a few seconds, then it just goes back to normal and after a few more secs its off again, mine does not stays on and drains the battery like yours.

I'm not sure if this can be a hardware issue, but other that using the charger I don't see why the hardware will fail.
If you find a solution or have any ideas let me know; I will do the same.

Help!!!

As for the issue with the "accessory is not made" issue the most common thing that this is caused by is the hardware. Most of the time it is because there is actually something small like pocket lint on the dock connect, so try to clean out that dock connector and give that a try.

Guys I solved the problem but not by myself. I brought my phone to a repair shop and idk what the guy did but now everything works fine. The explanation I got was that I had put too many apps on the phone and messed with it too much so that was why it was giving me all those errors. I had tons of apps on there and also customize and all sorts of other things so I guess that was the problem. I did try to restore by myself with iLiberty but I guess I don't know as much about the iPhone as I thought I did.
