iPhone won't start anymore

I have a 1st gen 8 gig iPhone and today, i removed the sim without closing the phone, by mistake. The iPhone told me the sim card isn't present and with no service...he wen't in standby mode but it wouldnt start anymore...i tried the close button, main button..nothing..got any ideea why>

it is not necessary to turn off the phone prior to removing the sim card. have you tried connecting it to your computer and putting it in recovery mode? or DFU mode? or simply, have you tried connecting it to some type of power source to see if it turns on?

i connected the iphone to the AC power, then to the USB port...nothing..not even a sound
