Cant use the wifi at work!? Mysis?
hello everyone. i have a problem. i cant seem to sign on to the network at work. i work for a clinic and we run a network system called mysis. is anyone familiar with it? anyway its very secure. its WPA-TKA encrypted. this particular network is actually hidden. so i cant see it on my iphone. i tried to enter the name in manually, and the IT put in the passcode for me. it wont work. says its unable to join the network. i know that when i create this new network "WPA-TKA" is not one of the options. its only WPA or WPA2 or something like that. what is going on. is the network too secure for me to access? i just need wifi on my iphone at work. let me know. thanks....

The iPhone WiFi will only connect using the WEP protocol.

Yikes. I stand corrected. I hadn't reviewed the security settings in a long time. So when you join what exactly is the error message? can't connect to network or can't find network? If its a small office, ask them to temporarily enable SSID broadcast and see if you can connect that way.

well i cant really do that. i dont have that much flexability with the IT. it just says "unable to join 'network name'" idk why it doesnt work. if its WPA-TK is that the same as WPA just stronger encryption? and in the settings (when joining a network) if i select just WPA will that work with WPA-TK setup? im so confused. someone help!!

WPA_TK is downwards compatible with WPA so that shouldn't pose a problem. Does their network server assign you an IP (DHCP) or do you assign your own values (Static)? To make a successful connection, you need an IP, Gateway IP and DNS IP. If it's DHCP, then you may also need a Client-ID, which should also be provided by your IT Dept.
