I dropped my first gen several times, and it stood up like a champ. I'm curious to know how the new plastic back will hold up to a drop. Unfortunately, I know it will happen eventually!

I got my 1st Gen in September, waiting for my 3G to come into AT&T, but today was the first time I ever really dropped my phone. Screen landed flat on the floor with my shitty case covering it a bit. No scrathes/dents, luckily. Gotta have it looking nice for when I sell it unlocked for about the price I payed for it initially...

I haven't dropped my 3g as of yet. I am buying an Otterbox when they become available just for when it happens like it did with my 1st gen.

Don't drop your iPhone. If you do hurt it, treat it like a woman. Caress it, apologize to it, kiss it and do a better job of taking care of it!

i dropped it last night on cement and only got a tiny barely noticeable scratch on the metal. buffed it out and gonna switch colors at ATT

happaned with 1st gen and it was terrible. phone stayed alife after rolling down in a valley with rocks and bumps. some pix i guess are blank but it works as its been before. myself ended up in a hospital with broken collar bone and pretty serious. belive 1st gen better then 3G.
