i would assume that you would have to activate it through itunes again but with the same phone # since it has a different "serial" # and if im not mistaken, the sim card is tied to the 4gb iphone instead... unless apple didnt do any coding to have it tied to just that specific iphone, then its just a matter of swapping it out. id say, get a friend who has an iphone and try swapping out your sim card with his... see if that works... the only catch to this is, his phone is already unlocked... so you need to find a locked phone with a deactivated sim card, and try it that way. good luck!

no you would not have to activate it again. It will ask you if you want to restore your lasted backed up settings to this new phone. I had to do this when apple replaced my phone with a new one.

I've been wondering if its possible to replace the iPhones internal memory in any way. Now that they have the 16 Gig cards, could it be installed & used???

No. It is soldered in, not replaceable.
