if this is the new update and it stops jailbreaking and unlocking, then y does he have his name (NATE) where the AT&T (next to the signal strength bars) is suppose to be????

It's because he used that hack from erica sadun that when ever you upgrade it wont effect it its called my setting or something.

The new 1.1.3 does not affect anything that has to do with AT&T, only Apple stuff, which would be hacking, and Apple has dealt with that turning your phone into a brick if it is jailbroken and/or unlocked.

Well there are alot of ways to un-brick it.

trust me.....a jailbreak has always come up like 1 week or less after the new updates. Jailbreak will not be a problem....it will be the unlock

YEAH true. But all they need to do is retrieve the secpack from 1.1.3 then yeah... They have already found an exploit on the new bootloader.

i know the thing about the unlock but i just hope we don't need to downgrade for the unlock (cuz rumor has it we wont be able to). and also if Apple doesn't upgrade the baseband then we cann't unlock. We just don't know yet and we just got to wait.

umm...if you have a 1.1.2 OTB you wont need to update/downgrade etc becasue the DEvs have already found a exploit on the 4.06 bootloader so they just need the secpack from 1.1.3, which it already has and proven, so yeah they need 1.1.3 secpack and patch it on anySIM then you just need to download anySIM then run it.

Gearlive should hand the phone with 1.1.3 over to the dev team.

that would speed up the process.
