Buying Iphone 3g from apple store

hi .. i am from india and i got my old iphone off an apple store in the US and unlocked it thanks to all of you here .. and now i am thinking of getting the new 3g iphone as well so just wanted to know is the new iphone 3g available like the previous iphone off an apple store or will i have to get it from at&t only ??

You must activate it in store. So you cannot get one from the US.

I bought mine on SAturday at the apple store, when iTunes was properly activating phones. The guy rang me up and told me I could go home and just activate through iTunes, or if I would like I could use a computer in store to activate. I guess it depends on who checks you out, because another sales person had people activating them.
