New Tip for 2.0 users - Web site photo saving

In safari. Any site that has pictures. Tap to zoom in as normal. Then hold finger on an image. The background goes a little darker. Then a Pop-up appears to save the photo or to go to link associated with the picture.

Picure saved in camera roll.

Nice Chris

Thanks to Joey from iPod Touch Fans Forum.

its not secretive, but it was so minor, comparing to the rest of the update, that no one noticed it..

Tomer, can you tell us more about the tips you already know of for 2.0? Guess it's no so secret. I am just trying to be helpful to people less aware than you.

The ability to save pictures from Safari is native to the 2.0 software.

another little hint is that there is now a built in screenshot taker- just press the home and lock buttons at the same time and the screen will flash white and the pic will be saved to your camera roll

For the second time today....... why do people keep saying this screenshot is a new feature??? It has been that way since 1.1.3 which is 2 firmwares ago!

EDIT: Ps- this image save was also an option in 1.1.3 and 1.1.4, but nobody figured out how to enable it. You can make it darken and show the URL, but nobody enabled the save option......... for whatever reason.

Yeah it just worked different in those firmware versions. It was holding the Home Button and flicking the Silent Switch. This is a new way built in by Apple and not a mod. Plus many Third Party Apps were created like Capture that did the same thing.

But didn't we have to modify a plist manually or install a small mod app to enable the screenshot function?
