Can I buy iPhone 3g with cash?

I just saw some posts on here that were a little old saying that you couldn't buy iphone with cash but the posts were from last year. I'm not sure if they've updated the policy. If not, what other method may I use to buy a new iphone?

I bought one yesterday with cash. Now that you sign up when you buy it, they will take anything. This is a better tracking system than before!
