What is Locations services

What is location services in settings do... Will I save battery if I turn it off. what will I lose if I do this. thanks in advance.

Location services are things that use you current location. For example maps uses your current location. If you turn it off many of the newer applications will not function(like loopt) but will most likely save some battery life.

Its also the messages that pop up when your about to take a picture like saying something like "Is it ok to use your current location" or something like that. It sometimes pops up when you have maps open.
