4 iPhones in one day!
Just thought I'd share my crazy experience with you all. Looking back I find it quite funny...here goes.
So I have a history of bad luck with Apple stuff. I had four macbooks in the past year and a half becasue of hardware problems and hard drive crashes. Today confirmed my theory that Steve Jobs hates me.
My iPhone (1st gen) broke yesterday with some common problem so I make an appt. at Apple. I ended up waiting way too long and finally the guy just replaces my phone. Then he says that the 3G line is short and I should hop in line cause they're almost out blah blah blah. I wanted to get one anyway cause I still had my 100 credit. The line ended up being over an hour and then another 45 activating my phone with the Apple guy.
Finally I'm all paid up. I take three steps out of the store, flip my phone on vibrate and the vibrate switch falls off. To make a long story short I ended up back at the Genius bar where he ended up replacing my phone again.
So yes, I went through 4 iPhones in one day. If you're wondering how I kept my sanity-I now have a brand spanking new 8GB 1st gen and a brand spanking new 16GB 3G. All for 50$ (Not including tax and my many hours at the Apple Store.)
Hope Steve doesn't hate you as much as me!Sent From My iPhone

^^^Agreed. I am certain Apple cut corners in their QC department in order to drop the price (even though it ends up being more in the long run).
Apples taste good.

ouch. at least I was at the store when it happened. And on the new one the switch is still hard to press. Apple really did it this time.

Well at least the Genius bar gave you the hookup relatively pain free. Thats a plus

Actually...
Actually, the overwhelming theory is that the QC problems have nothing to do with the lower price and everything to do with a simultaneous worldwide launch that required exponentially more product than last year's staggered rollout.
...which has nothing to do with OP's experience. Ouch!PLEASE click everyone's "Thanks" buttons...they are begging for it.
