Default Will the value/price of the old iphones go up?

If i sell my current iphone on ebay after the release of the 3g iphone, wll it be more valuable? Will i be able to sell it for a high price?

It will be unlockable, so to me, its more valuable.

    What do you think?

With the new iPhone, you either get it with a contract for $200, or pay $500 for it without a contract. There aren't any unlock methods at the moment that we've tested on the actual phone yet to know how long it will take. There will need to be a new jailbreak method first, because we can't use the ramdisk anymore. I think the old iPhones will hover above $400, and when people realize they can't unlock the 3G for a few months, the price of the old ones will go even higher.

I would say look on craiglist and ebay a week after the launch and see what other iPhone are going for. If all the current AT&T people go and get 3G phones for $199 and keep their old phones... the value might actually go down. You just don't know yet.

the 3G one is heavily subsidized to stop people from unlocking them anyways. So the first iphone will most likely go up.

It depends on how many people are still locked into a contract with tmobile and want an iPhone Tmobile doesn't have a strong 3G network either, and the 3G isn't unlockable at the moment, so I'm guessing the price will go up
