iphone online sale time 6 p.m.? Pacific or Eastern?

I recently called the 1-800 number for apple's online store (1-800-MYAPPLE) to ask what time the iphone will be available for sale at the online store. The customer service rep gave me a response of more than likely 6 PM just as the stores, I then asked pacific or eastern time and he replied, I would think pacific. Has anyone heard anything else?

yea but there are not two sepearte websites for ppl from the east coast and west coast so i don't see how this would work

yea I mean if it went on sale 6 PM "local" time, how is the apple online store to know that it is really not 6 PM in California but it is in New Jersey. There must be some explanation as to if they are going to just go on sale at easter time or pacific time. In other words if it goes on sale at 6PM eastern time, then it goes on sale at 3PM west coast time.

no. they could go 6pm on each time zone. that means that the ppl on the east coast get it before the ppl on the west. it wouldnt be fair but hey! i live on the east coast

Guys... either way its not gonna ship within that 3 hours. It will most likely ship Saturday or Monday. Everyone who orders on Friday will get it the same day, I imagine. (No, not the same day they ordered it, I mean it will come in on the same day for everyone.

I'm not worried about when it ships, I'm worried about it selling out online, thus the reason I want to know what time to be online to buy it. I mean do you think they are going to sell out everywhere, is it a better bet to go to a store or go on apples online store, I thought apple was a better bet for stock.

My guess is since Apple HQ is in California iPhone will go on sale at 6 pm Pacific Standard Time.

I hate playing theses guessing games, it sucks. And I still have until next week to wait, the anticipation is mounting. If I don't get one I am probly gonna cry.

You'll be able to tell if it's about to be available because Apple.com will probably shut down for construction while the pages are being added.

They did the same thing last week during the WWDC to add the safari links and revamp the front page.
